Sen. Chuck Schumer has been a vocal critic of the Tea Party, but today he took his criticism to new heights by claiming that conservatives are against illegal immigration because they are against "changing demographics."

ImmigrationSchumer was quoted at Talking Points Memo as declaring that "changing demographics" explains "why so many on the right vehemently opposed the Senate immigration bill..."

Ironically, Schumer was seeking to convince Tea Party groups that "super-wealthy Tea Party donors have hijacked the grassroots movement," while he was speaking at the George Soros-funded Center For American Progress.
